1. The Overweight Person.
Thanks to rising sedentary lifestyles and unhealthy eating habits, countries around the world are experiencing high rates of obesity. Most people would prefer to be at a normal weight, so it isn’t unusual to see an overweight person trying to shed the fat at the gym.
2. The Gym Bro.
You probably already know the type. The gym bro is exceptionally muscular because he spends a lot of time lifting weights. He drinks a lot of protein shakes. Some bros are prone to using “bro science” – a pseudo-science promoted in bodybuilding circles.
3. The Personal Trainer.
As suggested by their titles, these professionals will personally train customers for a fee. Trainers are there to motivate and make you accountable to an exercise routine. Many trainers are certified in the science that goes behind physical fitness. If you have a question or a problem related to exercise or diet, personal trainers can help.
4. The Machine Hog.
This may be the most irritating type to run into at the gym. The machine hog will spend way too much time on one exercise machine, taking away the chance for other people to use it. This type may not realize that they are hogging the machine, so the next time you are at the gym, try to be mindful of your own habits.
5. The Desk Lady.
Friendly and personable, the gym receptionist is usually there to greet members and introduce newcomers to the facility. If you have any questions about membership plans or the gym you are visiting, try starting with the person working the front desk.
6. The Newbie.
When it comes to the gym, everyone has to be the newbie at some point. Some people are intimidated when they first start out, but they shouldn’t be. The gym is a great way to get in shape and challenge yourself physically, and it is full of friendly people who can help motivate you to go further.
